New Flashpoint and New Dirt coming

Postby batty » Mon 26 Jul, 2010 10:47 pm

This from some website: http://connectedconsoles.com/ps3-Codema ... he-Way.cfm

SVP of production at Codemasters, Jamie Macdonald has confirmed that new instalments to the Operation Flashpoint and Race Driver: Grid franchises are in development.

It was though that a new Operation Flashpoint may appear at E3 last month, after the success of Dragon Rising back in October last year. Unfortunately, it was a no show. Grid was another Codies franchise expected to make an appearance after an impressive first outing in 2008. Once again, no luck.

Macdonald though, has cleared any doubts.

“In Southam it’s full steam ahead with the next iteration in our Flashpoint series," he said, during an interview with Develop, "as well as the next Dirt and Grid. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out.”

The publisher confirmed that a third instalment in the Colin McRae: DiRT series was on the way back in March. There's no harm in reassuring your fans though, is there?

Expect some official, official announcements in the coming months.

Better graphics would be a good start, more intelligent AI would also help.

Hope Dirt2 has more Rally and Trailblazer events, as well as hardcore customisation and repairs between stages. Needs a lot more stages too.
