This being my first review and the first arcade game I decided to purchase, let me firstly say that this game is tops! Bomberman is an arcade-style maze-based video game developed by Hudson Soft. It was first released in 1983. Bomberman has since spawned many installments building on its basic gameplay. Lo and behold it has now reached the hands of trigger happy 360 users.

Many classic games have been re-released and revamped for the XBLA marketplace with some doing well and others not so. Bomberman, however, is a classic example of how to bring back an old game by sticking by its guns and using traditional gameplay. With an overhaul to the graphics, bomberman provides a top down view of all the great fun you will have in multiplayer. There are several modes, 8 arenas and a great customisation system for your own bomberman character. Such great variety helps to keep the game fresh and makes for loads of replayability, even after dozens of matches.

Single player, on the other hand, is only useful to get you started. The AI are mostly without a brain and end up bombing themselves before you get a chance to. The game can be played with up to 8 players on live and 4 players locally. So you can have a ton of fun with your friends over at your place or try out your skills playing on live.

At 800 points (AUD$10) this is a game that is definitely worth a lot of bang for your buck. A great party game, it will provide you with many hours of entertainment.
